What maintenance schedule should I follow for an ice machine?

A simple commercial schedule that prevents most “not making ice” call-outs:

Daily: Check the bin level and that the scoop is clean. Keep the bin lid closed to reduce melt and contamination.

Weekly: Wipe exterior vents, check airflow clearance, and look for leaks around the water connections.

Monthly (or more often in dusty kitchens): Clean the condenser and intake grilles.

Every 3 to 6 months: Clean and sanitise the ice-making system and bin. In hard-water areas, descale more frequently.

On the filter’s interval: Replace water filter cartridges (for example where SA30007 / I4000.2-CN / SA950750 are used). Overdue filters are a common cause of low flow, poor cube quality, and scale.

If your site is high-volume (busy bar, café, hotel), shorten the intervals. Consistency matters more than the exact dates.
